Press Release: Jeep Protective Options

Warn Adds to Line of Jeep Protective Options
New differential skid plate for Cherokees joins rock crawler product lineup
that includes differential, steering box and oil pan skid plates, and Warn's unique Rock Sliders

Clackamas, OR (April 17, 2003) Warn Industries today introduces the WARN Skid Plate line up, the latest products in its line of protection options that address the extreme off-road needs of Jeep CJ, TJ, YJ and XJ Cherokee and Wrangler owners.

The Differential Skid Plate was designed to fit Dana 30, 35, 44, and 60 installations. It accommodates both high and standard pinion covers, providing a tight fit and structural rigidity. The plate is made from 3-16" steel, stamped into an angled front end design that slides easily over objects and won't snag or hang up. It is available in either stainless steel or black powder coat finish.

With this introduction, Warn now has four protective offerings in what it calls the "Extreme Jeep" family, which it is continuing to expand to meet rock crawling enthusiasts' needs and interests. "By continually improving on the factory-designed protective components-and developing new and more innovative solutions-we can make Jeep owners' off-roading experiences even more exciting, and ensure that their vehicles stand up to whatever conditions they face, "said Thomas Giacomini, Chief Operating Officer, for Warn Industries.

In addition to the new differential skid plate, Warn also offers steering box and oil pan skid plates-for Wranglers and Wrangler TJs. The steering box skid plate is made of 3/16" steel, formed into a full enclosure that fits within 1/4" of the steering box. The result is maximum ground clearance plus the ability to withstand big rock hits.

The oil pan skid plate is similarly tough, owing to its 3/8" steel construction and rust-resisting capability. The plate is a bolt-on design with a frame attachment that allows drive shaft travel; it accommodates both stock and lifted vehicles. Rounding out the line are Warn's Rock Sliders, specially designed protection for the undercarriages and rocker panels of Jeep CJs, TJs and YJs. These are 3/16" steel panels that bolt to the body, extending protection under the rocker panels and up to the doorsill. They come with a durable powder coat finish.
