Well I decided after a hard day of work to have a little fun. I went to the shed and fired up my 2000 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4. I then proceeded to travel the trails on my property leading to this old gravel pit shown in the pictures. I had noticed that another ATV-er had crossed this frozen pond. I thought to myself, "Let's give it a try." "When in doubt gas it". I started out onto the ice and suddenly I fell through. I was all by my self and stranded without a winch because my MileMarker winch was unsealed unlike your products. Let's just say my machine was swamped and I needed help. I called my sister to come out and help. 5 hours later and a junk winch I have decided its time not to buy a non-name brand winch and trust the big dogs in the industry like WARN.

I was pulling a 20 ft. duck boat and I got stuck with it hooked onto my ATV. I hooked my winch to a tree and it pulled the boat and me out. The boat has a 90 hp motor so you have an idea how heavy it was!
Thanks so much. Chad

This story comes from a little country with the name Luxembourg (Europe). It was a cold day in March 2007, and I have just finished with the restoration of my Suzuki Samurai. The Suzuki was ready for its first off-road trip. I have put a WARN 9.5ti on the front of it, and a WARN M6000 SDP on the back of the car. This day was the day to test my new Warn winch and to see how it works. I droved about 4 hours on the off-road area, but I couldn't find a good mud gab to play in it, but suddenly I saw one in a corner of the wood, and I droved into, but I could not get out of it, because it was too deep, and there was too much mud in it. I exit the car to take the hook and connect the remote control and there I saw that I forgot one thing, to fix the hook from the winch on a higher point on the bumper, and the result you can see on the pictures... I recovered myself with the winch, and was very impressed of the force of it.

On a recent charity event, for the Variety Club of Victoria, I took up a challenge from a fellow participant to drive through the Turon River in New South Wales. It pays check for rocks under the water. I had to use my Warn M8274-50 with a pulley block to get out. Wet feet, among other things, plus a burnt out clutch. Apart from that it was no problem at all.

My friend got his 92 Dodge 1 ton diesel stuck, so he called me to come and winch him out. I anchored to the tree, double-lined the cable and pulled him out just fine. He gave it gas to go forward and sunk straight down where he stopped (10 feet in front of my truck) so I unhooked from the tree and proceeded to drive around him to pull him out again. That didn't work as you can see, and I ended up frame deep in the go. The only tree for me to winch to was 160 feet away, good thing I have an M8274-50 and a Warn accessory kit with a chain! I winched myself out, then pulled around to winch out the Dodge so we could go home. Good times in Klamath Falls! |

This is my buddy Dave. We were riding up at Brown's camp when the trail gave way under his brand new Suzuki King Quad. Thankfully Dave had put a WARN 2.5 on his machine before even leaving the dealership. Once Dave finished "fishing" for the hook we were able to hook him to a nearby tree and his WARN 2.5 pulled him free with ease!

Dear WARN,
A while back, a group of friends and I decided to pick up ATV's to burn off the on-the-job stress when we're off duty. So I loaded my 2002 Polaris 700 with a few accessories, the first being my WARN 2.5ce winch. It's never let me down, and pulled myself, and my friends out of some of the stickiest spots we could find. After pulling out most of the guys and girls without winches of their own, you don't have to look hard in our group to find a WARN these days. I couldn't imagine hitting the mud without one of these mounted on my machine. Thanks WARN for letting us all get out of stuck we love to get into!
Sincerely, Benjamin Campos |
